TEAM Selected to Present Research at the 2026 American Academy of Ophthalmology Annual Meeting

Dr. Armin Avdic, along with two oculoplastics research abstracts submitted by TEAM, has been selected to present at the 2026 American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO) Annual Meeting—one of the most respected ophthalmology conferences in the world.

This recognition reflects TEAM's ongoing commitment to advancing the field of ophthalmology through research, innovation, and evidence-based patient care. Welcoming Our Inaugural Resident Class

There are moments that mark the beginning of something truly meaningful, and welcoming the first residents into our Ophthalmology Residency Program is one of them.

This inaugural resident class represents more than the start of a new academic year. It reflects our commitment to investing in the future of ophthalmology by training compassionate, skilled physicians who will go on to improve vision and transform lives in the communities they serve.

To celebrate the occasion, each resident was welcomed with a gift basket as they begin this exciting new chapter. While it's a small gesture, it symbolizes the support, encouragement, and sense of community we hope each resident feels throughout their training.

Meet Our Inaugural Resident Class

Luke Mein, MD (PGY-2)
Luke joins the program as our PGY-2 resident, bringing enthusiasm and a strong foundation as he begins specialized ophthalmology training. We are excited to have him as part of this historic first class.

Jacob Morgan (PGY-1)
As one of our inaugural PGY-1 residents, Jacob is beginning his journey toward becoming a future ophthalmologist. We look forward to supporting his growth both professionally and personally over the coming years.

Megan Murchison (PGY-1)
Megan rounds out our inaugural resident class as a PGY-1 resident. We are thrilled to welcome her to the team and can't wait to see the impact she will make throughout the program.

The Texas Educational Academic Medical Foundation (TEAM) is proud to announce it has been certified by the Texas Medical Board as a Nonprofit Health Organization (NPHO), marking a significant milestone in the foundation’s mission to expand access to high-quality medical care, clinical excellence, and healthcare innovation across Texas.

This certification reinforces TEAM Foundation’s commitment to building meaningful healthcare infrastructure that supports physicians, specialists, students, and communities through education-driven programs and strategic partnerships.

As an approved NPHO, TEAM Foundation is positioned to further strengthen its role in advancing medical initiatives that improve patient care while supporting the future of healthcare through residency programs, specialty training, and broader academic opportunities.
