Thousands lack care - with your support we train doctors, launch and operate medical residency programs, and improve health outcomes.
In South Texas, underserved communities face mounting challenges in accessing quality medical care. And with a shortage of specialists across many areas of medicine, long wait times and untreated conditions are all too common. TEAM was created to help address this problem by training future generations of specialists across several medical disciplines.
What We’ve Accomplished
With $15 million in total donations received, TEAM has already reached a major milestone in building the future of specialty care in South Texas. Phase I of Sight for South Texas achieved its fundraising goal, making it possible to launch the Ophthalmology Residency Program, recruit world-class faculty, secure ACGME submission, and advance development of the Mein Eye Institute at Brooks City Base.
So far, we’ve achieved:
Established program headquarters at the TEAM Mein Eye Institute, Brooks City Base (San Antonio)
Recruited physician faculty and clinical rotation sites
Welcomed our first Ophthalmology Resident (PGY-1, July 2025)
